Lola & Gigi are Coming to Vancouver & Calgary this Spring!!

Lola & Gigi, Canada’s hottest online, high-end fashion boutique for curvy women sizes 12+ is taking their trunk show on the road with select dates in Vancouver on June 2-3, 2010 and Calgary on June 9-10, 2010.

Fans of the weboutique on this side of the country have long been awaiting the trunk shows for a chance at an up-close look at the highly coveted pieces on their wish lists, like the luxurious show pieces from Anna Scholz, or the lady-like dresses with a twist by Melissa Masse, and flirty cocktail dresses by Tadashi Shoji.

Created by Laura Carvaggio, an expert on curvy body styling, Lola & Gigi aims to empower women to feel confident in their curves by offering fabulous clothing that fits perfectly - where the size on the label is no longer important and focus on ‘style’ is key.

“I like to help women transform themselves through clothing,” Laura says. “When something doesn’t fit I remind women: it’s not you - it’s the dress! It’s about finding the right cut and designs for your body type, without skipping out on style. And that’s where Lola & Gigi comes in.”

 Meet Vancouver "Eco Chic" Designer Diane Kennedy!

 

A seasoned fashion designer for 24 years, Diane Kennedy, a native of Western Canada, lives and works by her philosophy of designing beautiful, comfortable clothes with women's figures and respect for the environment in mind. It is this guiding principle that had Diane seeking ecofriendly fabrics like sleek and luxurious Bamboo for her designs.

 

Bamboo is a strong, easy to grow plant that requires no chemicals or irrigation other than the rain that falls from the sky. As a former designer with Donna Karan and Richard Tyler, Melissa Masse's brand of lady-like dresses with a twist is highly sought among high profile show business professionals, stylists and celebrities like Cameron Diaz and Charlize Theron, who flock to her LA store for her creations.

Masse credits her success to the unique combination of custom tailoring and a self-described "sweet" style. A former plus-size model, Anna Scholz turned her passion for design into a avid fan base of celebrities and exclusive shops, including Harrods & Saks Fifth Avenue. Getting inspiration from her vintage finds at the Portobello market in London, Anna designs her own luxe fabrics & prints for a truly unique collection each season.  She believes that every woman, regardless of size, should feel confident and sexy.  Each piece is designed to flatter and show off your curves, not to hide them.
